By a nose

“Look farther only ‘by a nose’. It won’t work if it’s more than that, nor less than that.”

Ken Shimura, comedian

「だれもが思いつきそうなことを、人より鼻の差ぐらい先を見越して、現実化すればいいんだ。『鼻の差ぐらい』がポイント。それ以上先でも、それ以下でもダメ」志村けん

Bashing

I remember it was about 4-5 years ago, one of our female MPs was bashed. The reason was something to do with her child. She brought the child to her work or went to see the child during the work hour or something like that. The majority of the NZ population were “that’s not fair. We all do what parents have to do and that is very hard work. you cannot skip it just because you are MP”.

Well, someone has to be the first if we want to change something. But this view was not major.

Right Time

A year ago, PM Jacinda joined the UN meeting together with her newborn daughter. She was invited to a TV show after, and disappointed them by going there by herself, not taking her daughter with her. Some people were not in favour of her taking her daughter to the UN meeting. But gradually, there became this silent agreement. The people who criticises what she did are now considered not kind.

What are the differences between these 2 cases? The person’s position, and charisma, of course. How about timing? If it’s too early, the majority of the population do not understand.

Making History

I assume, leading people always have a hard time waiting for the right timing. Possibly, some people had been criticised and kicked out of the front line, just by giving all the followers an idea what’s coming next, and ended up being forgotten by the time their idea came real. We want to remember this side of history, if we want this world to become a better place, don’t we?

By the way, I'm completely in favour of PM Jacinda. I like the way she does what she think is right, without hesitation, and always "kind". And I like the way whole nation is changing more and more that way.
