Front steering bar installation

Front steering system is popular especially to young population whose posture control are not stable. By holding the bar, keeping the up-right posture will be more encouraged. Also, this bar swings together with the direction control done by rear assistive stick. The rider can feel the direction change through the bar. Also, it is possible to steer by swinging the front bar, though it takes quite an amount of strength.

1)

Look at the side which does NOT have steering unit (with black cup on top). Undo 2 screws if there are >> please keep them in the plastic bag hung on a arm rest, so that you won't lose them.

2)

attach another direction unit (looks similar but does not have black plastic cup) to the empty side, using 2 long screws (6mm cap screw x 60mm) This video may give you an idea how to.

3)

Adjust the height for both side. They have to be high enough not to touch rider's knees. It has to be even, too ( I often forget about this and straggle for long). When tightening the screw at the clamp of Direction unit side (which has black PLASTIC cup), make sure the metal flat plate with 3 holes on one end sticks out forward, also the black cup is outward from the chair.

5)

Set the front bar. If the holes on COGY side do not match the screw legs on front bar,

undo the screw legs and choose a different hole. You may need pliers and wrench.

When the rider pedals COGY, you may want to secure the bar using R-clip. video
